Join us for this special and very informative award conference honoring a master, researcher, teacher, and pioneer in the field of early infant-parent communication.

This special workshop titled Mother-Infant Research and Implications for Clinical Practice will be held via a new and engaging Zoom format that alternates between small lecture portions and interactive, conversational dialogue segments featuring Dr. Beatrice Beebe and Dr. Estelle Shane.

The event will be split between a morning and afternoon session.

  • Morning: Three Models of Mother-Infant Trauma
  • Afternoon: How Playing with Babies Made Me a Better Therapist

Participants in this event will come away having learned to:

  • Describe how frame-by-frame analysis of video provides a microscope into the details of mother-infant interaction.
  • Explain ways in which mother-infant research can inform mother-infant treatment.
  • List two different pictures of mother-infant trauma.
  • Describe how Dr. Beebe learned to understand the infant’s nonverbal language and how she learned to join the infant with forms of correspondence.
  • Discuss two examples of how these forms of correspondence bring us to an important clinical moment in mother-infant interaction.
  • List two examples of how these forms of correspondence bring us to an important clinical moment in the adult treatment videos presented.
